Shaligram rock is found on the banks of the holy river Gandaki of Nepal. It is the most sacred rock worshiped by Vaishnavas. It is used to worship Lord Vishnu in an abstract form. The worship of Shaligram is considered equivalent to the worship of 'Lingam' as an abstract symbol of Lord Shiva.
The one in whose house Shaligram stone is present is free from ghosts, demons, planetary defects and does not face any obstacle. Along with Shaligram, an important stone is Gomti Chakra which is the form of Lakshmi, keeping these two together helps in maintaining wealth and prosperity in the house.
